In 1940 a German spy parachuted into Willingham and was eventually captured and converted into a double agent. But all this remained secret until a few years ago his story when his story was published in a national newspaper. Recently, I met a Willingham resident, Irene Ellwood, who remembered the events surrounding the capture of the spy and here recollections will be addedto this page in the near future
